Dispatch № 05

RUNNING GIRL lists 60 sports bras. The eight we actually kept.

Cheap, mostly fine, a few of them quietly excellent. The rest are the same bra with the strap shifted half an inch.

We run trails and we have no patience for the women’s-wellness-content industrial complex. There is a chest, it requires support, and we would prefer to keep the receipt under $80. Lululemon’s Energy Bra is genuinely good and runs $58 in 2026 money. Brooks’ Drive 3 is the high-impact benchmark at $70. RUNNING GIRL caps its entire catalog around $25.

We bought twelve. We culled to eight. What’s below is two months of treadmill miles, trail mornings, and one trail race we had absolutely no business running in a $19 bra (we did anyway). None of these will replace a Brooks for a marathon. Half of them will replace it for everything that isn’t one.

The criss-cross. Don’t make it complicated.

The flagship, and the numbers stand up: 7,723 reviews at a 4.3 that has barely flinched in three years. Removable pads, light-to-medium support, the kind of bra you throw on under a tank for spin class and stop thinking about. Don’t take it out for long miles. Below that intensity, it’s basically perfect.

Identical bra, $1.10 more, different colors

A sister listing to the pick above — same garment, six extra colorways, slightly higher sticker. RUNNING GIRL deliberately splits its bestsellers across ASINs to A/B-test which colors stick. Whichever one has your size in your color is the correct answer.

The two-pack — for anyone running a gym-bag rotation

Two bras, twenty dollars. Criss-cross silhouette like the first pick with slightly chunkier straps, packaged as a pair. The receipts: 1,063 reviewers landing at 4.4. If you’re the kind of person who showers at the gym and burns through three bras a week, the per-unit math here beats every single-listing option.

High-impact scoop neck — genuinely high-impact, with one caveat

RUNNING GIRL High Impact Sports Bras for Women - Scoop Neck Strappy Sports Bra High Support Moulded Cup Workout Bra

Ran a 10K on the treadmill in this and it held. Molded cup, wide underband, a scoop neckline that doesn’t flatten anything. Here’s the asterisk: above roughly 180 steps per minute, the band starts to creep up about an inch. If you’re cooking sub-9-minute miles, drop down to the racerbacks further down. Anything slower, this one is excellent.

Adjustable straps — the one we actually own

RUNNING GIRL Adjustable Straps High Impact Sports Bra for Women,High Support Workout Sports Bras with Sewn in Pads

Adjustable hardware is the line between a bra you wear once and a bra you reach for forever. This one has the hardware. Twenty-five dollars (the ceiling for anything RUNNING GIRL puts out) and the only piece in this file we reordered when the original gave up.

Racerback high-impact — the other real-running pick

RUNNING GIRL Sports Bras for Women High Support,Racerback High Impact Grey Sports Bra Moulded Cup Workout Bra Push up

Sits across from pick #4 — tighter racerback, marginally less coverage. We prefer this one for road miles when there’s no backpack involved, because the racerback geometry stays anchored. Twenty bucks. There are 459 reviewers who trust it, and so do we.

Molded cup, padded — the yoga-into-actual-hike workhorse

RUNNING GIRL Sports Bras for Women High Support,Molded Cup High Impact Sports Bra Racerback Workout Yoga Running Bra

Mid-impact with structured cups, and the pads survive the washing machine without folding in half — which is the test that quietly disqualifies most bras at this price point. Wore it on a four-hour out-and-back with a 15-pound pack and never thought about it once. Highest praise we have for gear.

The newer racerback — fewer reviews, equally as good

RUNNING GIRL Sports Bra for Women High Support, Molded Cup High Impact Sports Bras with Sewn in Pads Strappy Running Bra

Dropped late 2025 so the review count is still ramping up. Same general shape as pick #6 with a deeper underband and a stretchier strap fabric. If pick #6 is sold out in your size, this is the swap, and arguably the upgrade. Three weeks in, zero complaints.

Will we keep buying these?

Yes — for low-to-mid impact basically across the board, and the adjustable-strap pick #5 for actual runs up to 5K. Anything longer or faster, Brooks still wins. But for the 80% of training days that aren’t race effort, paying sixty dollars less for something this competent is the right trade.

We’ll update this file when RUNNING GIRL ships something genuinely new (versus the eleventh strap remix). If we missed your favorite, the inbox is hi@insidrfinds.com.
